Ben Rothenberg has authored the biography of Naomi Osaka. Over the years, he closely observed the rise and fall of the young Japanese tennis star. While the fans are eager to know what Osaka has on her mind, Rothenberg believes that we might see Ashleigh Barty kind of call from Osala as well. As per the reports from Fox Sports, here’s what he said.
“I think she might want to be opaque about it because she doesn’t want to put a label on it necessarily.”
Further, Rothenberg added, “I don’t think she would use the word ‘retiring’, but if she was stepping away from the sport for a while. I don’t know that she would want to speak that out loud. I think she would sense that that would raise a lot of bells and whistles.”
Naomi Osaka has been touring across Europe for the past few months and is spending quality time with her Rapper boyfriend Cordae. While there has been no official update from the tennis star, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
While her tennis performance has gone down, Osaka has done well in business. The 25-year-old is among the top-earning female athletes in the world today.
