Things seem to have taken a turn for the worse for Emma Raducanu of late. After making a comeback earlier this season from a lengthy injury setback, the British star has been sidelined again due to injuries. As a result, she has been away from the court for the majority of the Asian swing, her favorite and one of the most successful parts of the season. Further, she also announced that she will miss the upcoming Hong Kong Tennis Open. This left her fans saddened, and some even criticized Raducanu for missing tournaments every now and then.
Taking to her official Twitter handle, Emma Raducanu felt sorry that she wouldn’t be able to play in the tournament in Hong Kong. Although she revealed that she was making progress on her foot injury, she wasn’t 100% fit and had to pull out from next week’s tournament. Nonetheless, she admitted that she would like to play in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and recover in time for that tournament.
For those unknown, Raducanu last featured in the Korea Open but had to pull out midway through the tournament. She suffered a foot injury during her quarterfinal clash against Daria Kasatkina and retired after losing the first set 6-1. However, the British sensation is yet to recover completely from that injury. Nonetheless, she was criticized on social media for missing many tournaments.
