Actors who play Venus and Serena Williams in King Richard talk about the sisters
Hollywood actor Will Smith essays the role of Richard Williams as the film already received rave reviews across multiple film-festivals and at special premieres as well.
Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton, who portray the younger versions of Venus and Serena Williams respective, talked about their reaction on seeing the Williams sisters for the first time and the love they share with each other.
“It’s kind of like when we met them, we just saw them as kids again. Like, when they’re with each other, they’re sisters”, explained Saniyya.

Demi Singleton also pointed out about the ‘child-like energy’ the duo shares whenever they’re together. The reel Venus Williams also mentioned how the sisters are so proud of each other’s achievements.

“When they both look at each other, there’s so much, like, one love. But, they’re so proud of one another. That’s what I love so much about them, So it was just like, if Venus is gonna do it, I’m gonna do it. Or, if Serena’s gonna do it, I’m gonna do it. And I’m like ‘oh my gosh, I love that'”.
While it’s evident to the world about how the Williams sisters had to go through hardships to find success in their careers, King Richard depicts the huge roles played by their parents – Oracene Price and Richard Williams, in making sure their children gets to live their dream.
Along with Saniyya and Demi, the movie has Aunjanue Ellis, who plays the role of Oracene Price. ‘King Richard‘ premiers this Friday in theaters as well as on the streaming serve, HBO Max.
