Back in 2018, she shocked the world, when she revealed that the pay she gets as a commentator is at least ten times lesser than her fellow male commentators. The 18-time grand slam winner has yet again raised a similar issue.
Martina Navratilova Questions Italian Open Prize Money
Navratilova has raised her voice against the disparity of prize money in the Italian Open 2022. she took to her Twitter account to express her disappointment. Martina shared a tweet from British sports broadcaster David Law. In which he has compared the prize money for males and females in the event.

She said that the prize money in Rome stinks and questioned the disparity in the prize money.
“The prize money in Rome stinks! Whatever happened to equal money in combined events?!?” she wrote.
Astonishingly, the winner’s prize money for males is 836,355 Euros whereas for females it goes down to 33,260 Euros. The difference between prize money is over 2.5 times. However, looking at the enormous difference, it won’t be wrong to say that Martina has raised a valid point here.
