Chris Evert is never shy to express her opinions even on the most sensitive issues, both on and off the court. Recently, after Prince Harry made headlines with a fierce legal battle against Associated Newspapers Ltd., Chris was quick to express her opinions on the matter. Harry has sued the publisher of The Daily Mail over grave allegations of tabloid intrusion as the case proceeds in London.

Along with the Duke of Sussex, celebrities like Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Liz Hurley, and Sadie Frost are suing the newspaper group for phone hacking and other privacy violations. While the publisher expectedly denies the allegations, Chris Evert’s statement has turned heads into how clouded the reality might be. After she supported British tennis icon Emma Raducanu against the “ruthless” media in a recent interview with Eurosport, the ‘Ice Maiden’ is now vocal with her support for the Prince.
Chris Evert’s fans make their pro-Prince Harry stance clear amidst recent legal controversies
Talking about the allegation that Prince Harry has charged the media firm with, Chris Evert was as blunt as one can be. She says, “There are many wonderful journalists in England, but I have to say, for the most part, the British tabloids very often are brutal and do cross the lines of integrity.” Stating her stance for once and for all, she said, “I agree with Prince Harry on this one… “
As expected, fans have started pouring in their comments. While some are in support of the WTA legend, others cannot really agree. One fan inquisitively asked Evert if she has ever faced the “brutal” British media herself.
Did they ever write anything bad about you?

Another fan was quick to comment on their general belief regarding tabloids- that they are brutal and have no regard for privacy. According to them, it didn’t matter whether it was based in England or not.
Tabloids in the US are brutal too – as they are everywhere, not just in England.

A fan could not help but side with the press as they argued that all the press does is “dig up” dirt at the behest of its audience.
Well now THAT is an interesting back and forth between the "Press" and the "Public". A bright light was shone on this issue with the death of Diana. It is the "Press" that oversteps it's bounds but they do so at the BEHEST of a public that wants ALL the dirt they can dig up.

Sarcasm makes its way into the comments as a follower comments on how American tabloids are essentially the same as the ones in Britain.
American tabloids are pure and righteous

That's why we know them as tabloids, not as serious news outlets. It's the gutter press. The only remarkable thing about this is that you would still be surprised by it. It's the nature of the beast, and has been for a long time. Prince Harry thrives on it, by the way.

Keep Piers Morgan and his ilk across the pond. America loves Meghan and Harry. The good they've done and will do is inspiring.

While Chris has highlighted the issue of the tabloids, fans think that there is more to the case. They argue that it isn’t just the tabloids, but a large chunk of media houses that target Harry and Meghan Markle for no apparent reason.
It’s not just the tabloids Chris, it’s the likes of the Telegraph as well, they have constantly attacked Harry and Meghan and there are no papers which have been in any way supportive. That’s the reality of the situation, it’s absolutely not just the tabloids.

While the controversy continues to rage, Prince Harry is making frequent visits to the court to plead his case. The case is reminiscent of the call-hacking scandal that shook the UK a decade ago, leading to the conviction of the former spokesperson for then-Prime Minister David Cameron.

While the allegations in Prince Harry’s case date primarily from 1993 to 2011, they also stretch beyond 2018. Whether the court finds these allegations rooted in evidence is what will decide how the debate goes to rest.
