Eric Hechtman has been working with Venus Williams since 2019. However, recently, Serena Williams stepped in the shoes of her sister, announcing Hechtman as her coach ahead of her much-awaited return to the 2022 Wimbledon Championship.

While both the sisters are currently under the guidance of Eric, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the two look upon each other during their practice sessions. Giving a glimpse of that, Venus Williams recently opened up about Serena’s seriousness in practice during a candid conversation with her fan.

Venus opens up about practice sessions with Serena

Apart from being a tennis legend, Venus is known for her social media presence. The 7-time Grand Slam champion uses social media to give regular updates about her personal as well as professional engagements. However, above that, the former World No. 1 also uses social media to interact with her fans.

Recently, Venus hosted an ‘Ask me Anything’ session on her clothing line, EleVen by Venus’s Instagram handle. Considering the majestic aura of Venus, she received an inbox full of questions for her. Amongst the many questions, a question read, “Who do you think gives Eric the hardest time in practice? (Goofing up) You or Serena?”

Known for her outspoken personality, Venus started by making an honest yet hilarious confession about herself. “I don’t know. I goof up a lot in practice but have a lot of serious moments too. Moments when I want to talk it all. I think I am scary then,” she said.

Ending her part, she next moved to sister Serena. However, unlike herself, Venus went all praise for Serena’s seriousness during practice. “Serena is pretty serious. She tells me, can we let Eric play in?” Venus admitted.

The much-awaited comeback of Venus and Serena Williams

With both sisters being out of the tour since last year, their comeback has undoubtedly been the talk of the tennis world. Serena last played at the 2021 Wimbledon, injuring her hamstring. On the other hand, Venus last played in Chicago, injuring her leg.

Cut to 2022, the two were anticipated to make a comeback this year. Adding on to those hopes, the two also dropped in certain hints of their comeback at the 2022 Wimbledon Championship. Standing up to everyone’s hopes, Serena has announced her comeback at the upcoming Wimbledon Championship. Whereas Venus has opted to stay out of competing on the grass courts of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
