The Canadian tennis star, Eugenie Bouchard also criticized the former Russian tennis player by calling her a ‘cheater’.
Later on, Bouchard, with a dominant performance, also defeated Sharapova in the Madrid Open. Additionally, Bouchard was featured in an interview where she talked about her victory over Sharapova. Meanwhile, the former Wimbledon finalist also revealed that she had no regrets about calling out at the former world No. 1 tennis player.
Bouchard stated, “I just wanted to play as well as I could and definitely had a little bit of extra motivation to kind of do it for all of us who have been fair to the sport and who have played the sport, the true way it’s meant to be played”

During the interview, Bouchard also revealed that she got support from the tennis community after she defeated Maria Sharapova in the Madrid Open. She stated that many players coaches, agents, and people around the globe supported her for calling out the former world No. 1 tennis player.
Bouchard said, “And I support you and I agree with you and I just realized a lot of people are maybe a bit afraid to speak out, but that’s how I am.”
