After a rollercoaster of a year, Paula Badosa has recently shown signs of improvement in her form. Finding it hard to seek momentum because of a haunting back injury, the tennis star made it to the top 16, where she had to meet a defeat against Coco Gauff. Just days after playing four matches at the Italian Open, Badosa took a moment to thank her coach, but not the one who is currently mentoring her.
Just days after triggering social media because of an unexpected meeting with her ex-boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas, Paula Badosa came forward to drop some timeless memories of her life. In a recent Instagram story, the 26-year-old shared a collage of pictures featuring her childhood and teenage memories with a man who she mentioned was her childhood coach.
In the shared pictures seeming to be clicked on courts, the WTA star can be seen paying attention to what the admirable coach is trying to teach her. Along with the glimpses, she also wrote a caption that clearly gave out her sentiments behind the adorable bond with the former coach, whose name she hasn’t yet revealed. “You left 5 years ago but you give me the strength everyday to continue fighting,” the caption said, pointing to the fact that this day marks five years of him leaving this world.

Badosa, who is currently sharing her on-court journey under the guidance of her coach Pol Toledo, proved that regardless of having lost an important person in his life, she still continues to remember him and the things she learned from him. However, this wasn’t the first time the Spaniard took a moment to remember her childhood connection.
Paula Badosa’s customary practice of remembering the childhood coach
It didn’t strike Paula Badosa out of nowhere that she should share a message for her late coach. Remembering the connection on this date has been a practice that she never misses to perform. Even last year, the WTA star shared a similar message, in which she mentioned how it has been four years and she still remembers her ex-coach.
“It’s been 4 years, but you’ll always remain in my heart. You give me strength everyday. Miss you,” she wrote in one of her Instagram stories last year. The tennis star also shared adorable pictures of her with the childhood coach as she traveled the old memory lane.
Now that the tennis star navigates the world of tennis with physical and emotional issues, it seems like the strength she gets by remembering the teachings of her coach.
