Tennis Icon Serena Williams once poured her heart out about her breakup in an astonishing blog just days before defending her first grand slam title of the season. Serena Williams keeps her personal life private and rarely discusses her former engagements or dating history.

In a lengthy blog post, the American star described how she fell in love only to have her heart broken and how she felt eventually he “needed space” as written on her official website.

The former World No. 1 talked about her experience meeting someone she wanted to spend her life within a blog post titled, “Stand in these shoes.” 

Like scores of others, Serena was clear that heart-break would happen one day and that he will stop calling sooner or later. Following the break-up, Williams went on to describe how she felt isolated. 

“You cringe at these words. This is the very reason you begin to think why your heart was in that steel enclosure… because one day it always turns into this day.”

Further, she added, “Tears finally come and they make you feel a little better, but the pain is piercing through your soul.” However, her blog showed that she has not completely given up on love despite the fact that the breakup seems to have made her skeptical.

During the timing of this post, the tennis star had been allegedly linked to known American actor and hip-hop musician Jackie Long. She refrained from naming the mystery man in her blog. Long, whose rising acting career peaked in 2006 with a supporting role in the US college drama ATL, had reportedly broken up with the tennis star at that time.

Serena Williams found her true love in Alexis Ohanian

In 2015, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian fell head over heels for one another. Their relationship has only grown since then.

The couple initially met in Rome in 2015 while staying at the same hotel. Then, in December 2016, the Reddit co-founder made the relationship official by posting the place where they had first met. A month later, the couple announced they were about to become parents.

Coming to Serena, the 23-time Grand Slam champion is on the verge of retiring and the upcoming US Open will be the final tournament in a legendary career spanning for over two decades.
