Famous American rapper Kendrick Lamar once talked about taking inspiration from Serena and using it in his music. Moreover, he also talked about the similarities between him and Serena, as they both came from the same place.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated back in 2012, Lamar said, “She’s always represented her community and represented her struggle.”
Moreover, the 35-year-old rapper praised the American tennis player for her tremendous drive to become the best. “The amount of drive that she has, to overcome the roadblocks and obstacles that she’s had in her personal life and to see through her dreams and to still get where she wanted to be, that’s what separates Serena from everybody else,” Lamar further said.
In that same interview, Lamar revealed that his sister, who lived in Compton at that time, idolized Serena. The rapper also praised Serena’s influence on women athletes and women in general around the world. It seems like, admiring Serena changed his music as well, as he has become one of the best rappers in the world.

Meanwhile, recently, Serena’s husband attended Lamar’s live concert, and he absolutely had a blast, as he posted about it on Twitter.

In the past, many players talked about idolizing Serena Williams, as they grew up watching mainly the Williams Sisters. The 4-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka played Serena in the 2018 US Open final, which had many controversial moments. After winning the final, she talked about admiring Serena from an early age.
