Ons Jabeur has left a lasting mark in the world of tennis in recent years. The Tunisian star and former World No.2 may not be a part of the ongoing WTA Finals, but her impact never ceases to grow. Her unparalleled determination and will to represent her country on the global stage is simply remarkable – probably, that’s the reason why the player has now become a role model for many young girls who dream of becoming just like her.
Tennis influencer Blair Henley recently took to Instagram while admiring Ons and her journey as a sports icon. Especially when it comes to promoting tennis among aspiring girls in the Middle East. In her post, Henley wrote, “Ons has done so much to promote Arab tennis and encourage women and girls in this part of the world to chase their dreams in sports and beyond. Tennis is pretty darn lucky to have her. 🤍 @onsjabeur”. Ons and Henley were recently present at an event as part of the WTA Finals in Riyadh.

Since turning pro, back in 2010, Ons has continued to rise as a tennis icon. Her overall journey, however, hasn’t been easy when it comes to achieving her goals. But with her success in the world of tennis, she’s worked on setting up an example for all those girls of her country who want to achieve something in their lives. “I tried to give the best example on and off the court. I wish to see my dream to see more and more players hopefully from Tunisia, from Africa because I feel like we have amazing talent. They need someone to show them the way,” said Ons Jabeur during an interview from earlier this year.

However, the player shocked the tennis community few months ago when she revealed an unfortunate update. Back in September, Ons made a big announcement to withdraw from the remaining events of this season. Taking to her Instagram, she wrote, “This year has been extremely hard for me, and as athletes we know that recovery is part of the journey. Due to my ongoing shoulder injury, my medical team and I’ve made the difficult decision to step off the tennis circuit for the rest of the reason.”
