Martina Navratilova, the 18-time Grand Slam winner, is currently one of the most active users of social media. Apart from being a commentator on various matches, she posts about them on her social media accounts, especially on Twitter. Interestingly, she doesn’t always talk about tennis, as she makes plenty of political comments as well.

Recently, she took a dig at Donald Trump’s legal advisor, Jenna Ellis, for her disrespectful comments on Olympian Simone Biles and soccer star Megan Rapinoe.

Earlier, Jenna Ellis took to Twitter and wrote, “Fittingly, Biden awarded his presidential medals to fellow losers, Biles and Rapinoe.”

In reply, the former 18-time Grand Slam winner said, “That’s President Biden to you and the only loser in this tweet is you. Signed- a so so Tennis Player.”

Later, a fan wrote in the same thread, “Nice volley.”

And Navratilova replied, “Strangely enough I cannot find a response from Jenna. Oh well. I can definitely survive that slight and not feel like a loser!!!!”

Notably, Biles and Rapinoe both received the Presidential medal of freedom on Thursday from the President of the United States, Joe Biden. After seeing that, Ellis called Rapinoe a ‘bully’ and Biles ‘selfish’ on Twitter. Later, Biles herself took to Twitter and asked, “who is Jenna Ellis? Asking for everyone.”

That time, Navratilova showed her support for Biles as she replied to her tweet, “A real nobody, no worries Simone.”

It is also worth noting that Navratilova has heavily criticized Donald Trump and his supporters in the past on many occasions.

Currently, the former Czech-American tennis player is covering the Wimbledon Championships as a commentator and an expert. Last Sunday, Wimbledon hosted a Centenary Celebration for its most prestigious stadium, the Centre Court. Wimbledon invited Navratilova, who won 9 singles Wimbledon titles, the most in the history of the sport.

However, she could not attend the celebrations after testing positive for Covid. Later, she took to Twitter to express her disappointment, as she couldn’t join the other champions. However, Billie Jean King mentioned Navratilova’s name during her speech and praised the champion player. Later, Navratilova thanked King on Twitter for her kind words.
