The cliche “Rome wasn’t built in a day” can be used to describe Aryna Sabalenka‘s remarkable journey on the court. During the initial phase of her journey, the Belarusian tennis star was ranked outside the top 100 spots in the WTA rankings. However, Sabalenka has always believed that she has the potential to reach the upper echelons of the tennis circuit. After a considerable period of hard work and sheer determination, the current world No. 2 player paved her own path to achieve unprecedented heights on the court.

Speaking about her rise to prominence in tennis, the reigning Australian Open champion recently imparted the value of trusting in the process.

The Belarusian tennis star is undoubtedly having the best season of her journey in competitive tennis. Aryna Sabalenka started the campaign by clinching her first-ever Grand Slam title in Melbourne Park as she outclassed the Kazakhstani tennis player, Elena Rybakina. Later, the reigning Australian Open champion also showcased a stellar display of her prowess at a number of  WTA 1000 events.

She finally added another WTA title to her bag after defeating the world No. 1 player, Iga Swiatek at the recently concluded Mutua Madrid Open. After her incredible triumph in the renowned clay court event, Sabalenka recently opened up the process, which led to her gradual rise up in the women’s circuit.

In an interview with TopCourt, the current world No. 2 player stated, “After one year, I was just like, my ranking was 120 or something and I was 18 years old. And it was like wow, okay, so it’s that I can do it actually. I think it was it was more about to play and try to win as much as I can. And because I enjoyed every game I enjoy the fight I enjoy, I just like this kind of find the way how to win the matches and go through everything.”

Sabalenka added, “After that tournament which I won, I was like, wow, it was a nice journey. It was about like, enjoying the work enjoying the practice, enjoying the matches, enjoying in this life. So and it’s it was much either, like you put pressure on yourself, I think. I think you have to be more relaxed and just enjoy it.”
