Coming out of her safe fashion choices, the Ukrainian gave an interesting interview to Baseline, confirming how she was over with her go-to styles.
The official X page of the Tennis Channel shared an excerpt from the Ukrainian’s statement from the interview. Showing her mental transition about her style, Kostyuk said, “ I want to try crazy things. I just feel like I’m not that scared anymore to risk and I’m pretty happy about it.” The WTA star’s statement highlights her wish to break her fashion monotony. When Kostyuk entered the 2024 Wimbledon court in her sleeveless, V-neck, largely back-open Wilson dress, she was the epitome of grace and elegance. It also reminded the fraternity of her wedding dress, which turned many heads when the Ukrainian revealed it on Instagram.

Kostyuk became Wilson’s first 360 athlete when the Ukranian took charge of her style last year. In a head-to-toe custom Wilson outfit Kostyuk introduced the brand’s apparel collection to the world. She worked with Joelle Michaeloff, Wilson’s design head, and created her season’s viral looks such as her glamorous Roland Garros forest-green kit and her wedding dress-inspired Wimbledon look. Michaeloff also worked on Kostyuk’s wedding dress offering her a style that perfectly blended her passion and outlook. “Honestly, it’s just about how I feel, how I want to look, and what I want to show out there, and just try to follow my feeling,” she said.

While the WTA star expressed her wish to try new things, she wanted an expert suggestion. Kostyuk also revealed how she figured it out with an interesting step.

In an interview with Baseline, Kostyuk admitted that she was an impulsive shopper who hardly knew what suited her. She also delved deeper into her childhood and mentioned how she “really didn’t care” and bought whatever she liked. However, things started to change as she grew up. “And then once I started to grow up more and buying more expensive things, I was like, Okay, if I buy these things, I need to know how to wear them well, because then what’s the point of buying all of it?” she said.
