Trying her luck on the clay courts, the 18-year-old is currently in Paris playing at the 2022 French Open. Being in devastating form, she outplayed fellow American Sloane Stephens in the quarterfinals. However, despite the loss, Sloane showed her support for Gauff in the most hilarious way.

Having a not-so-pleasant performance to date, Sloane entered the French Open with the hope of making an impact. Kicking off her Paris campaign in style, the 2018 finalist outplayed her opponents in the initial rounds with ease. However, her run came to a halt in the quarterfinals where she faced fellow American Coco Gauff. The 18th seed outplayed the 28-year-old Sloane in straight sets.

Post her loss, Sloane opened up about the clash and her form during the press conference. However, the eye-catching moment came towards the end of the press conference.

Winding up the press conference, a reporter asked Sloane Stephens about the favorite between Coco Gauff or Martina Trevisan to win in their semifinal clash. Known for her hilarious answers, Sloane, showing her support for Gauff, said, Well I’m sorry but it’s not Trevisan. Not my favorite.”

Having dominated the initial rounds, Coco Gauff and Martina Trevisan are set to face each other in the semifinals of the 2022 French Open. This would be the second clash between the two. The two previously played each other in the second round of the 2020 French Open.

Looking at their performance at the 2022 French Open, Coco Gauff is yet to drop a set on the Parisian clay. On the other hand, Trevisan has dropped just a solitary set on her way to the semifinals. Looking at their run, the two look in equal shape to book a spot in the finals.
