Paula Badosa pulls out of the Billie Jean King Cup
The world no. 3 recently played the Charleston Open in which Belinda Bencic defeated her in the quarter-finals of the match. Her country had chosen her as one of the participants of the team that was going to represent Spain in the Billie Jean King Cup. But because of physical issues, the Spanish player announced her departure from it.

She has taken a break to recover from the prevailing issues. Further, she hopes for a quick recovery so that she can be back on the court.
Paula took to her Twitter to announce it. She said, “It is not an easy decision, who knows me knows how complicated it is for me not to be in a competition and I was especially looking forward to this one, but advised by my medical team and due to physical and medical problems with which I have had to compete in recent weeks, I will be out of the call for the BJK Cup.”
The player showed solidarity with her teammates. She said, “I will be cheering on my teammates in the distance with the desire to compete side by side with them in the next call.”

Spain in Billie Jean King Cup
Spain would now be losing out on two players who were initially selected to play in the Billie Jean King Cup. The second one is Garbine Muguruza, who is a world no. 10 at the moment. Paula Badosa has been performing very well in 2022. She had reached the quarter-finals of the Miami Open too and she reached the semi-finals of the Indian Wells.
