As per Puig, “She moved up the rankings in ninja mode because that was like nobody saw it coming. She just went about her business. Did the work put in the hard yards, and all of a sudden, she’s exactly where she needs to be, and the results speak for themselves.“
Puig further said, “We’re talking about consistency. She has shown consistency time and time again. I really love her forehand, I love how she hits the ball, I love that she is not afraid to come to the net, I love her attitude on the court. I think it’s really, really good.”
Elaborating on Emma Navarro’s calmness, Puid added, “If stuff is not working out or really going well, she’s just, you know, there. She just keeps trying, keeps at it, doesn’t really start whining and complaining and all of this stuff.”

The American squad at the BJK Cup consists of Pegula, Navarro, Madison Keys, Caroline Dolehide, and Taylor Townsend. Pegula spoke with Tennis Channel after obtaining a walkover from Zhu Lin at the Miami Open, stating that Navarro has been playing the ‘best’.
Pegula said, “I think we’re all playing really good tennis. I think any of us could play for sure. Doesn’t matter ranking or whatever. We’ve all been playing really good. Emma’s been having an amazing start to the year. I feel like she’s been playing the best out of anyone, really.”
