‘Nearly 100 Titles More Than Serena’ – Fans Hail True GOAT Martina Navratilova as She Gets Featured Alongside Iga Swiatek at US Open 2022

Yesterday, Iga Swiatek created history as she became the first Polish player to win a US Open title after beating the Tunisian player Ons Jabeur in the final. Many former and current players, including Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King, congratulated her and Jabeur for having an incredible run at the US Open.

It is worth noting that both Navratilova and King were there at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, watching the final. Moreover, Navratilova presented the winner’s trophy to Swiatek, and she felt elated. Later, Navratilova shared a lovely message on social media to congratulate Swiatek and Jabeur. However, many fans wrote some interesting comments on her post as they hailed her as the GOAT over Serena Williams.

Earlier, the 18-time Grand Slam champion, Navratilova took to Twitter and wrote, “What a treat to be sharing the stage with two champions- congrats @iga_swiatek and also to @ons_Jabeur – both great role models for aspiring girls and boys everywhere! Women’s tennis is in good hands!!!“

After sharing this post, many fans started to comment on it, as one fan wrote, “You will always be the GOAT imo. Nearly 100 more titles than Serena. More weeks at number 1. Untouchable 74 match winning streak. 20 more GS titles when you include doubles. And if you hadn’t skipped Australia for 7 years, possibly more GS singles titles too.”

Meanwhile, another fan called her GOAT as well and felt both Swiatek and Jabeur were lucky to share the court with Navratilova.

One Twitter user praised Navratilova for winning 59 Major titles and called her one of the greatest champions of all time.

Meanwhile, one fan made a funny comment about Navratilova’s age. The Twitter user wrote, “looking good Martina .  are you sure your getting older? LOL“

Another fan felt Navratilova was the best tennis role model ever.

Meanwhile, one fan commented about Serena Williams being the greatest; however, one Twitter user mocked that fan, as he sarcastically said, “Yeah. No tennis history before Serena. End of tennis history when she retired. Sure.“

Another fan talked about Navratilova’s class and grace and praised her massively.

Navratilova possibly had a far superior tennis career than anybody else on the planet. Apart from winning 18 Grand Slam singles titles, she won 41 doubles and mixed doubles Major titles as well. Moreover, she won 167 singles titles and 177 doubles titles in her entire career.

As for Serena, she had more Grand Slam singles titles, i.e. 23. In terms of overall titles, she won 73 singles titles and 23 doubles titles in her career. In terms of pure statistics, there’s no tennis player on earth who can match Navratilova, both male and female players. However, many felt Navratilova and Serena played in two different eras; so, there should not be any comparison. Nevertheless, one thing probably all fans should agree with is that they are two of the greatest tennis players of all time.
