18-year-old American tennis star, Coco Gauff, has had a mixed bag of a season so far. The teenage sensation didn’t have a great summer in Australia, as she suffered an early exit in the first round at the Australian Open. Then, she achieved some success in the doubles event at the Qatar Open, as she won the title with Jessica Pegula. Recently, she played in both Indian Wells and Miami Open, where the result didn’t go in her favor.
Meanwhile, a few days back, she visited TD Garden, the arena of the Boston Celtics. There she received a special gift from the Vice President of player development of the Celtics team.

Recently, Coco Gauff joined the VP of Boston Celtics’ player development, Allison Feaster, for a candid conversation about sports, the NBA, her brothers, and meeting Jayson Tatum. During that interview, the tennis player received a customized jersey by Boston Celtics with written ‘Gauff 20’ on the back.
While giving the jersey away to Coco, Allison said, “We want to award you your very own Celtics golf jersey… I think your brother might try to steal this, but that’s for you.”
After receiving the golf jersey, the tennis player looked really happy and thanked Allison. “That’s pretty cool… thank you… I’m gonna hang it up in my closet,” Gauff replied with happiness.
Apart from receiving the jersey, she also got to meet the superstar of the Celtics team, Jayson Tatum. Interestingly, she became really nervous while meeting with Tatum and gave one of her rackets to the NBA player. Originally, she was supposed to give the racket to another player. Instead, she gave it to Tatum, which, according to Coco, could land her in trouble with her brothers.
Coco’s bittersweet Indian Wells and Miami Open
The American player was hoping for better singles run at the Indian Wells and Miami Open. However, she lost to Simona Halep in the third round at the Indian Wells. Then, in Miami also, she lost to the no.1 player Iga Swiatek in the round of 16.
Despite a terrible singles run in both the tournaments, she is still playing in the doubles event with Caty McNally at the Miami Open. Today, the American pair will play against the pair of Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova in the semi-final.
