Tennis sensation Naomi Osaka recently informed fans about a surprising phobia. In her recent Instagram story, the Japanese tennis star shared a picture of a bridge that seemed like a simple one. However, she changed the whole scenario by including a caption in which she revealed, “Fun fact: I have a fear of heights.”

As the 26-year-old ran through the tall bridge as a part of her training session, she discovered another aspect of her fear. “Another fun fact which I didn’t know until today – running across tall bridges scares me really bad,” she wrote. She narrated her experience of facing difficulties post-realization as she said, “I had to sprint sections and hold my hands over my eyes so I couldn’t see the edges.”

Delving deep into explaining the intensity of her fear, Osaka added, “I also had to chew on my t-shirt because halfway through, I really thought it was a wrap for me.” As she finally crossed the hurdle that gave her an unexpected tough time, she swore, “I made it across, but never again.” This revelation provided a glimpse of her unique fear along with her spirit of acceptance.

Naomi Osaka welcomed her daughter Shai in 2023 while she was on a break. While it was evident to receive multiple thoughts after experiencing this big change in life, she came forward to open up about them. Expressing her fear of not being a good mom, Osaka shared, “Something I had to conquer recently is fighting the thought that I won’t be a good mom.”

“So many doubts raced through my head I had to swat them away like mosquitoes. Looking into Shai’s eyes and holding her I always think, ‘wow this little person depends on me so much, I have to do better’,” she added. As the tennis star moves ahead with a pack of fears in her mind, her fighting spirit stands to be nothing less than admirable.
