Four-time Grand Slam winner and former World No.1 Naomi Osaka is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the next season. Before stepping on the court in the Australian Open, she’s working hard on getting in shape for another event Down Under. She will enter the Brisbane International to fine tune her skills. But it seems her constant training sessions are now taking a toll on her gear. Well, this is something her coach Patrick Mouratoglou has highlighted, with a fun jab at the WTA pro on social media!

Osaka is currently in Auckland where she’s busy practicing, ahead of her Brisbane International campaign. The tournament will kick off on Saturday, December 27, and will end in the first week of 2025. However, the Japanese tennis sensation’s constant practice has led to some serious wear and tear on her shoes! Yes, that’s what appears to have happened in a latest clip, shared by her trainer Patrick Mouratoglou’s Instagram story, dated December 26.

In the clip, the 27-year-old is seen reaching towards the net to hit a stroke, only to see herself putting heavy pressure on her shoes. While it’s unclear, looking at the video, whether they were damaged, the coach seems to know better. It becomes evident from his hilarious, five-word reaction to describing this moment. “How to destroy tennis shoes!” he simply wrote.
