In total, she’s won eight singles titles. But even before she fully made her presence felt on the court, Bencic had many lucrative opportunities lined up for her. After she turned pro in 2012, she partnered with 11 brands, aged 16, according to Forbes. Back in 2014, the player attracted lots of eyeballs after defeating Kimiko Date-Krumm in the first round of the Australian Open. Speaking more about her career, she’s been a former World No.4 (achieved in February 2020).

Bencic won the Gold medal for her country at 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In 2022, she also contributed to Switzerland’s Billie Jean King Cup victory. Naomi Osaka beat Karolina Muchova in the second round on Wednesday. After the match, she was asked about facing another mother Belinda Bencic in the next encounter. “It probably adds extra stuff for you guys. Not necessarily for me. I think we’re labeled ‘moms’ of course. I think when you go on the tennis court, you just think of yourself as a tennis player, first of all” Additionally, she also mentioned that “I haven’t caught up with her because I haven’t seen her,” Osaka replied.

Overall, they have faced each other five times already. And it’s Bencic who leads the h2h tally 3-2 against Osaka. Reflecting on her opponent’s capabilities, the former World No.1 said, “I know she’s an incredibly tough player. She fights a lot”

When asked about their off-court dynamics, Osaka further revealed, “I don’t want to say I’ve grown up with her, but we’ve definitely seen each other on tour.
