Naomi Osaka has currently taken a sabbatical from tennis. Following her third-round exit from US Open 2021, Osaka hasn’t competed after that. Just recently, she was snapped in Greece, celebrating her 24th birthday with close friends and family. While she’s enjoying her quality time with closed ones, she’s about to drop from the top 10 WTA rankings.
Presently, the Japanese is at World No. 10 with 3326 points. However, the upcoming Monday will observe some changes in the listing of the top 10.

Naomi Osaka to drop out of Top 10
Naomi Osaka has been one of the star tennis players on the WTA Tour for a couple of years. The 24-years old has already clinched four Grand Slam titles till now. Apart from that, she has also advocated the importance of mental health by withdrawing from several tournaments.

At present, Osaka is ranked 10th with 3326 in the WTA rankings updated on October 25, 2021. However, there will be some changes in the 10th position on coming Monday. As a result of those changes, Osaka will be dropped out of the top 10 rankings. This will be the second time in the month that she will be excluded from the top 10 in a span of one month.
The rankings updated on October 4 saw Osaka drop from the top 10 first time this year. As she has decided to stay away from tennis, for now, her ranking is fluctuating. Despite winning at this year’s Australian Open, Osaka will be bow out from the top 10 rankings very soon.

Osaka’s break continues
After withdrawing from French Open and Wimbledon, Naomi Osaka returned at the Flushing Meadows. However, her dream run was ended in the third round by Canadian prodigy Leylah Fernandez.

Since then, Naomi Osaka has stayed away from the sport. The 24-year-old recently celebrated her birthday with friends and family in Greece. She even posted several pictures from her vacation days.

While she still hasn’t given any update on her return to tennis, Osaka’s fans across the globe are waiting for her to make a comeback on the tennis court soon.
