The draw of the US Open 2021 just got announced and fans will get to see some epic clashes right from the beginning. On the women’s side, Ashleigh Barty will begin as the top-seeded player while Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka are the second and third seed respectively.
All the eyes will be Naomi Osaka as she is the defending champion at the Grand Slam. She is not enjoying some great form on the tour. To add to her problems, the Japanese star has got a really difficult draw at the US Open 2021.

Naomi Osaka might meet Aryna Sabalenka in the semis, likely to face Ashleigh Barty in the finals of the US Open 2021
Osaka will begin her US Open 2021 campaign against Marie Bouzkova. After this, she will most likely face America’s Alycia Parks in the second round of the Grand Slam before encountering Yulia Putintseva in her third match. However, it is after these three rounds that the pathway to her third US Open title becomes a little tougher.

If the 4-time Grand Slam champion manages to reach the fourth round, she might face Angelique Kerber there. The German has been in superb form in 2021 and can upset the World No.3 player.

The quarters bring more challenges for Osaka. She will most probably be battling against Elina Svitolina there. If she somehow beats the Ukrainian player, she will be meeting the in-form Aryna Sabalenka in the semis before locking horns with World No.1 Ashleigh Barty in the finals.
Fans have huge expectations from Naomi Osaka and want her to deliver at the US Open 2021. She is an incredible player on the hard-courts and her stats on the surface are a testimony to this fact. Will she be able to defend her title in New York this year?
