When you are in a profession that works on ranking, especially in sports like tennis, then it may bring a sense of security when at the top. That is what Naomi Osaka went through as well. Measuring her worth based on her rank was what she was doing too like many other players on the tour. But then came a reality check.

Now that she’s a mother and has her daughter Shai in her life, Naomi Osaka’s perspective has changed and Shai has become the most important thing in her life. This has also helped her gain back her sense of security.

After becoming a mother, a lot of things have changed for Naomi Osaka. One of the important things that has changed is that now she does not feel insecure if she is not where she wants to be in her professional life.

Osaka shared in a recent interview, “I’m not sure what will happen when I get my ranking to around where I want it to be. But I really think having Shai balanced me out a lot.” Further, she also talked about how Shai has become the only person she thinks about when it comes to counting people who love her.

She stated, “It feels nice to know that no matter what happens, someone’s going to be there who loves you and cares about you. She’s the only one that I think about.” It is heartwarming to know how her child has become one of the persons who make her life better and easier.

Naomi Osaka shares what a ‘painful’ experience childbirth was

Back on the courts after giving birth, Naomi Osaka once shared how childbirth was one of the most painful things she had to do in life, “I just feel like I can do anything and nothing will bother me, and the pain tolerance has definitely increased a lot from that.

And not just physically, she also stated that because of the pain tolerance, she has also stopped caring about other people’s opinions anymore because it has made her very strong.

Each individual approaches motherhood, or parenthood in general, differently. For Naomi Osaka, her daughter Shai makes her even stronger.
