Naomi Osaka is making good use of every moment in enjoying her tennis break ahead of the 2025 season. The four-time Grand Slam champion, who took a maternity leave and then had to stay away from action due to injuries after China Open in October, is currently spending quality time with her boyfriend and rapper Cordae. Although the two hardly share their private moments online, Osaka has now broken that tradition with her latest update!
The former world no.1 took to Instagram and shared a post with slides showing her in a red outfit. Pairing it with a jacket, she was seen showcasing her style statement while posing for selfies in the mirror. Interestingly, one of the slides also featured Cordae himself. Clearly, the two seemed to be having a great night out together. Cordae, whose full name is Carlos Amari Brooks, is a Grammy-nominated rapper from North Carolina. He’s not generally seen in Naomi’s social media posts. But the latest post, dated December 15, suggests the two may have decided to unveil their precious moments on social media.
For the unversed, the couple met in 2019, and the same year they confirmed their relationship. He was also spotted in the stands during Naomi’s US Open campaign. Ever since they made their relationship public, both of them have continuously supported each other. Naomi cheered for Cordae’s new album ‘The Crossroads’ which was released last month on November 15. That time, she took to her Instagram and shared the album cover to show support for her BF’s professional endeavors.

Not to mention she’s also an avid fan of Cordae’s music. His track ‘Don’t Walk Away’ seems to be one of her favorites. She made it evident with an Instagram story last month – where she wrote “You guys are so sleep on this song and I hate that for you.” Naomi is also focused on making a stellar return to the court. After failing to leave an impact in 2024 due to injuries, she’s vowed to make a strong impression in Australia.
Naomi Osaka eyeing to make a solid return in 2025 season
Before starting her campaign at the Australian Open next month, she will step onto the court at ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand. Naomi Osaka will make her return to the WTA 250 event – after nearly eight years. The last time she played in Auckland was in 2017 when she was just 19 years old. Now 27, she’s gearing up to make a lasting impression. Showing her excitement for the tournament, she said “I am looking forward to just embracing the nature of Auckland and of course, playing in a tournament that I have not played in for a long time. I am excited to return to Auckland for the ASB Classic 2025,” as reported by Tennis Infinity, dated September 30.

“When I was there last time, I was fortunate to go on a helicopter tour and explore the beaches which I thought were really beautiful. My other memory is that Auckland has the best salmon,” she added while revealing what she likes about the event’s venue in general.

Speaking about her return in 2025, in the Australian Open, she said, “My goal now, I think to be seeded in Australia. I would really love that. I would love to avoid Caroline Garcia (smiling). Yeah, just being seeded. But not putting too much pressure on myself. I’m just trying to take it day by day.” Her last appearance in the first Major of the season was in January 2024. Earlier this year, she failed to overcome Caroline’s challenge. After losing the encounter 4-6, 6-7, she was eliminated in the first round itself. Will she deliver a better performance this time? It’ll be interesting to see.
