After the whole French Open withdrawal chaos, Naomi Osaka has received both support and backlash from the tennis world equally. However, the same tense situation does not seem to end even after a month and more. The good news is that 18-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova is now taking a hit at the ill-speakers of the 23-year-old.
Recently, the Japanese star appeared on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2021 issue, which attracted harsh perceptions from journalist Megyn Kelly. Although the duo exchanged heated words, Osaka later blocked her, and it led Kelly to aggravate the situation.
Following that, the Czech-American legend Martina tried to stop the reporter. Still, things have slipped out of the hands as she now tweeted an intimidating message addressed to Kelly and like-minds.

Martina Navratilova supports Naomi Osaka against Megyn Kelly
Even though Osaka explained to Kelly the situation, the American reporter took a full swing at the WTA World No.2. Thus, it was only time that someone spoke against the open torment. And who better than a legend of the sport, Navratilova.
The retired Czech-American professional wrote, “People like Megyn Kelly as well as anonymous nobodies is exactly why we block people or mute them. Who wants to be attacked in public by people who know nothing other than how to bully and belittle others who achieved everything? Not me, man. Naomi Osaka deserves none of this BS.”

Conversely, the four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka has left all of this behind her. Moreover, she has also begun her training for her return after almost two months at Tokyo Olympics.
Seeded second, the young Japanese is one of the most favorite contenders for the gold medal this year. Yet, she has now many opponents to stop her.

Notably, the newly crowned Wimbledon champion Ashleigh Barty would be the biggest threat to Osaka for gold. Since the Australian would be the top seed, the duo might meet only in the final.
Apart from her, Osaka has a stream of young talents to cross, who all are eager to represent their nation. Hence, it would be intriguing to see if Osaka rises above again or sees an upset.
