Naomi Osaka Cherishes Beyoncé’s Academy Awards 2022 Performance on King Richard’s ‘Be Alive’

Beyonce’s first-ever Oscar nomination came for the movie King Richard. She was nominated for the song ‘Be Alive’. Queen Bey was also amongst the few stalwart artists invited to perform at the 94th Academy Awards. The performance also marked Beyonce’s return to the stage after two years, much to the excitement of her countless fans, who call themselves ‘Beyhive’. The last time she took the stage was for Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi’s funeral.

Looking stunning in a neon ensemble costume, Beyoncé’s performance, as always was spectacular! The dress in a green resembling the tennis ball had glamorous feather trimmings and she wore it with a diamond-encrusted garter bracelet and matching gloves. While most of the stars performed in the Dolby theatres, Queen Bey chose to shoot her performance at a tennis court in Compton, the same courts where Serena and Venus Williams began their journey to greatness. A live band, and several young dancers wearing beads, like the Williams sisters used to in the initial days of their career, accompanied her.

Naomi Osaka seems like a fan of Beyoncé, like most of us are, as she posts about the star once in a while. She reshared Beyoncé’s post, probably fangirling over the iconic performance.

Even though Beyonce didn’t win the award, the movie ‘King Richard’ bagged one of the awards. The movie had six Oscar nominations. Will Smith won the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Richard Williams, Venus and Serena Williams‘ father, and long-time coach. The story of King Richard revolved around Richard Williams’ indomitable spirit, dedication, and sacrifice.
