Naomi Osaka caught everyone’s eyes ever since her exploits at the 2018 US Open. The Japanese star won her maiden Grand Slam title at that tournament, defeating Serena Williams in the summit clash. Subsequently, she has gone on to add another three major titles to take her tally to four Grand Slam titles. Although this has been a disappointing season for Osaka, she had something to cheer about in the recently released Forbes list of the highest-earning tennis stars.

Apart from her on-court success, Osaka has also attained massive success in the business world. At just 24, she has become an inspiration to many with her on and off-court exploits.

Naomi Osaka is the highest-earning female tennis player

The Japanese star’s annual earnings accounted for $56.2 million, with $55 million coming as off-court earnings. These whopping numbers made her the highest-earning WTA player, ahead of the likes of Serena Williams and Emma Raducanu. Overall, she sits second behind Roger Federer in the male and female combined list of the highest-paid tennis players.

Despite her inconsistent run of form and injury concerns recently, Osaka is a marketing powerhouse and endorses around 20 brands. Some of the brands included in her portfolio are FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange, and Modern Health, a mental health platform.

Additionally, she also has several business ventures to her name, like a sports agency, Evolve, and a media company called Hana Kuma, apart from others.

Osaka gets a tough draw at the 2022 US Open

Owing to her WTA ranking being 44, the Japanese star is unseeded at this year’s US Open. As a result, she received a tough draw at the last Grand Slam tournament of the season. Osaka will face the 19th seed, Danielle Collins of the United States in the opening round of the tournament.
