Aryna Sabalenka dethrones Iga Swiatek to become the new tennis queen! She has had an outstanding season this year, winning the AO title in January and then finishing off the Grand Slam events with a title triumph at the US Open. Sabalenka spent almost eight weeks at the top spot last year before Swiatek overtook her with a victory at the 2023 WTA Finals. She has seen a lot of ups and downs this year, both in her personal and professional lives. However, now, she’s happy to get back her crown from the Polish superstar. Even her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, recently penned down a heartwarming message to Sabalenka for her historic feat.

After seeing the latest rankings, Aryna Sabalenka came up with a tweet stating, “N1…Let’s see for how long this time.” Then a few minutes later, her boyfriend, Frangulis, shared a post on his Instagram Story. It featured a screenshot of the WTA Rankings page where Aryna Sabalenka was seen holding the top spot with 9706 points and Iga Swiatek dropping down to the second spot with just 9665 points. Georgios Frangulis captioned that post with, “N1 in my heart and N1 in the world (F–k, so romantic i am) You are the best meu amor @arynasabalenka.“

Aryna Sabalenka recently won the Wuhan Open title by defeating China’s Qinwen Zheng by 6-3,5-7,6-3 in the final. Then, a few days after that emphatic triumph in Wuhan, both Sabalenka and Frangulis were spotted enjoying their shopping date in Dubai. Sabalenka shared a few glimpses of those moments on her IG stories and captioned that photo with, “@georgiosfrangulis Evening shopping with meu amor.” 

Georgios Frangulis and Aryna Sabalenka have been dating each other since April 2024. There have been multiple such instances throughout the season, when we saw the founder of the Acai brand, Oakberry portraying his support towards the Belarusian superstar. For example, when Aryna Sabalenka won the Cincinnati Open this year, Frangulis shared a picture with her on social media and captioned that post with, “Much much deserved. (Somehow you look even prettier with that trophy smile).“

Then, even during the 2024 US Open, we saw the couple share quite a few heartwarming moments in between all the chaos that unfolded. When Aryna Sabalenka won the US Open title, Frangulis posted a series of photos on IG, capturing several moments of the Belarusian’s emphatic triumph. In one of those posts, he shared his love and affection for the tennis star by captioning, “I’m in love with the Queen of NY.” He has been the strongest pillar of support for Sabalenka over the last few months. In September this year, during an interview with PEOPLE, Aryna Sabalenka revealed the role of her boyfriend during her tough times. She said, “I am really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff. But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life. Even when things are going wrong in my career. So yeah, he was my biggest support, and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.“

Not only this, even after winning the 2024 Cincinnati Masters, Aryna Sabalenka addressed her boyfriend, who was watching her from the stands. She thanked him for his constant support. Even during the Italian Open this year, we saw Aryna Sabalenka blowing a kiss towards Georgios Frangulis to show her love during her speech. There have been multiple such heartwarming moments when we saw these two love birds showing their love and support for each other throughout this season.
