‘My Mother’s in the Next Room’- Chris Evert Once Revealed Embarrassing Moment During Her Dating Days With Jimmy Connors, Thanks to British Tabloids

Chris Evert is one of the most celebrated entities of tennis. She still has crowds of fans who love to stay updated and are intrigued to know more about her life. Everything in which Evert was involved made up to the headlines and people took a special interest in her love life. Speaking of which, here’s a story from her days of dating the ATP legend, Jimmy Connors.

Chris Evert about the craze of her and Connors’ relationship

Evert, earlier in an interview, disclosed how her and Connors’ relationship was the biggest talk of the town in the late 70s. In the context of the same, she shared a story detailing the notorious activities of people around them and her mother’s hilarious response. “I was 18, and I met Jimmy the year before.“

“Every time we went over to England to play Wimbledon, they were knocking at the hotel room. Saying Chrissie, is Jimmy in there?” She said. Connors and Evert claimed their first Wimbledon title in the same year. Thus, in a way, performing a couple’s sweep.

They also posed together after the tournament, giving the sweetest smile. Therefore, their relationship received a little more adoration and attention from fans over there. Further, Evert added, “And my mother’s in the next room and my mother’s saying I hope not. I was pretty young in those days but they would follow us everywhere it was remarkable.”

Though the relationship started on a really pleasant note saw a miserable ending. Connors, in his autobiography, claimed that the major reason behind their parting ways was their pregnancy. While the eight-time Grand Slam champion wanted to bring the child into the world, Evert felt otherwise.

Evert’s failed marriages

After calling off the wedding with Connors, the 18 times Grand slam champion, tried to find her soulmate in John Lloyd. Though the Britisher wasn’t the right fit for her and they parted ways in 1987. A year after that, Evert tied the knot with alpine ski racer Andy Mill. 

Her and Mill’s marriage seemed perfect. They even welcomed three kids together. However, in the year 2006, a storm named, Greg Norman, ruined the 18-year-long marriage.

Evert walked out of the union and exchanged vows with the Australian golfer. But with him also she faced difficulties and after a year they decided to get a divorce.
