Sloane Stephens is already turning heads in Wimbledon. Coming with bright colors in the first round, she has one problem to deal with during her stint. While Stephens’ famous soccer player husband is in town to cheer for her, he might not say yes to all of Stephens’ plans. Revealing that to the media, Stephens expresses her amazing equation with her husband in a candid admission.
Stephens won the first round of Wimbledon 2024 against France’s Elsa Jacquemot on Court 2. Post victory, she sat down with Tennis Channel to talk about her plans for when she is off the court. Speaking about finding a tour guide, Stephens candidly revealed how her husband won’t approve of such long trips. “I started seeing like 9 hours or 12 hour day and I was like my husband’s not going for that,” she said. Cancelling on that, this WTA star further said, “I was like okay maybe we do a food tour or something okay.”
Stephens and her husband Jozy Altidore are known are a couple of different sports. Whereas Stephens is a pro tennis player, her husband last played for Liga MX team Puebla. Their busy schedules often keep them apart, and that’s why Stephens spoke about how much the duo value their time together.

In an interview with People Magazine in January 2022, Stephens revealed how they couldn’t jet off for their honeymoon right after the marriage due to their work schedules. “When you travel 40-plus weeks a year for work, all you want to do is come home to each other and enjoy the downtime,” she said.
However, she also mentioned how rewarding she felt with a partner who was supportive enough to understand the struggles of athletes. “We both have incredible, crazy jobs and lives and knowing that through it all, we have each other as our constant and true home base is such a comforting feeling,” said Stephens.

Despite mentioning the couple’s problems while traveling, Stephens has been very vocal about Altidore’s constant cheer for her professional and personal endeavors. Even Altidore spoke the same way about his talented wife, revealing how blessed he is to have a wife like Sloane Stephens.

In an interview with USA Today in 2017, Altidore praised Stephens, saying, “She is somebody who gets everything” that Altidore is going through. Mentioning how much they understand their mood right away, Altidore further added, “She just kind of gets the mood I’m in, as obviously she lives a very similar kind of life. In that regard it works really well, there is no stress. She is a successful athlete and I do okay, and we just enjoy our time together when we are together.”

Stephens also complimented her beau in an interview with Black Enterprise in February last year. Mentioning how “disciplined” they are with their schedules, she mentioned that “so that when it is family time, we are all in and fully present,” This American WTA star didn’t hesitate to express how “comforting to have that level of understanding in a partner.
