As the first Arab African tennis player, Ons Jabeur, however, has history on his mind that he wants to write. She narrowly missed winning the Wimbledon championship last year, but she is set to return to claim her victory. She is ready to take on Wimbledon this year; her iconic run to the finals was recently telecasted on the Netflix tennis documentary.

While everyone who saw BreakPoint admired her commitment to winning the Grand Slam championship, Jabeur, on the other hand, had the chance to witness her own 2022 Wimbledon campaign recently, just a few days earlier, with her husband by her side. And the 28-year-old tennis pro expressed her disappointment at seeing her come so close to winning the trophy but fall short.

The former world number two ranked tennis player is trying her best to win her first Grand Slam tournament. Last year, she was just a step away from flaming a Wimbledon title, but things didn’t go her way, and she lost the finals to Elena Rybakina, upsetting her dream. However, recently, her whole journey to reaching the final was a part of the Tennis Netflix docuseries BreakPoint’s second part.

From her Wimbledon defeat to Serena Williams‘ last dance. Everything that happened in the second half of the tennis season last year was a part of the tennis documentary series. In a recent interview with LTA Tennis, the 28-year-old tennis star opened up about seeing her brilliant run at Wimbledon.

She said, “I think both my husband and I cried looking back at such a great run in Wimbledon. I didn’t manage to lift my first Grand Slam title, but that’s tennis. Hopefully, it inspires me to do even better this time around.”

Nevertheless, the Tunisian tennis player took her trailblazing career to new heights by becoming the first African Arab tennis player to reach a Grand Slam singles final. Even after being proud of her glorious Run at Wimbledon last year. She was not that happy with how the finals ended.

Jabeur wanted to change the 2022 Wimbledon ending 

She advanced to the US Open finals after making it to the Wimbledon finals; however, she was defeated by Iga Swiatek. She also bought Pride to her nation by finishing her season as the highest-ranking African American player in history. She reached the World’s second-highest ranking by reaching major finals. Even after exerting so much effort, she still wanted her Wimbledon campaign to end differently.

Further, she expressed how painful such setbacks had been. “The feeling that never goes away—it’s always there,” she continued. She also mentioned the desire to alter the episode’s plot in that conversation. However, as she is unable to change the past, claiming a victory will give her a greater chance to do that.
