Serena Williams, a tennis legend, has encouraged many young girls to take part in sports. Williams is also well-known to help practically everyone who is clued up about tennis, and that makes sense given her stellar skill over the course of her 23-year career.

Now, the tennis star has retired from the sport, but there were days when she was winning back-to-back and was unbeatable on the tennis court. However, there was a time when Super brat John McEnroe’s daughters believed that his father can never beat the American tennis legend. 

Serena Williams might be a tough opponent for John McEnroe

In a throwback interview, the American tennis player talked about how his daughters believe that if the 23-time Grand Slam champion enters the men’s sport, she can be unbeatable.

And while talking about the same, he said, “My girls don’t think I can beat her now,” and on the other hand he said, “I thought I could beat her,” and said that she would be ranked 700 if the tennis player enters the men’s side of the sport.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion thought that he would be able to beat the 41-year-old at that time because she was pregnant with her daughter, back then, during the interview. Further, even he knew that women are playing good sports than men and are achieving greater heights.

Williams’ reply to Super Brat’s comment

The 63-year-old former tennis player’s comment got a mixed reaction from the tennis fans. He also got a response from the tennis legend whom he mentioned clearly and stated factual information about her. Williams took to her social media account to reply to her fellow countrymen. She wrote, “Dear John, I adore and respect you, but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based.”

However, the American tennis legend has evolved from the sport to explore other avenues in life. In addition, she spent more than two decades on the tennis court. She set numerous records including 23 Grand Slam triumphs. After announcing her retirement earlier this year, she played her last tournament at the Flushing Meadows and ended her career in front of her home crowd.
