Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian are gearing up to become parents once again. And as parenthood comes into the picture, so do Ohanian’s beliefs and values about both parents in a child’s life. Hence, he has been actively raising his voice for paternity leave. However, it was the birth of Olympia that made him understand its value and importance. Continuing with the same motivation, he is still on the battlefield.
The issue of parental leave goes deeper than the surface for Ohanian. It is not just the parent’s presence. It is also an example for the new generation of kids like his daughter, so that they can have the liberty to lead their lives according to their will.

Olympia: The pillar behind Alexis Ohanian’s resilient fight for paternity leave
The Reddit co-founder has built a legacy for himself by amalgamating his business and tech mindset. However, that has not diverted his attention from what is the most important part of her life. Always prioritizing his family and daughter, Ohanian has continued his fight to show the necessity of parental leave.
In a recent interview with Forbes, he again raised the same issue. As a matter of fact, he would be taking paid family leave after the birth of his second child. But all the motivation behind this is Olympia. Therefore, he stated, “I just want to create that equality of opportunity so that my daughter can be whatever the hell she wants. [So that she] feels like there’s a chance for her to be her best, at work, at home, doesn’t matter.”

Ohanian aims to create a holistic environment for Olympia so that she has the liberty to grow in whatever direction she feels like!
Bringing in a new perspective Ohanian has once again proved his point about why having the presence of the parents is crucial. In the past, he has time and again reminded people how important it is to have this personal experience of being with their newborns.
How is the husband of Serena Williams changing the narrative around fatherhood?
Ohanian also talked about how men can do well in both fields. They can outperform in their businesses and jobs and be amazing parents as well. But bringing in a new perspective, he stated, “Especially in the modern era, women have been asked to bear both of those things. So, I am looking around and like I have total confidence that men can do this because women have had to do it.”

As a result, this would lead to a space where men could work and consciously be with their kids. He added, “Obviously, that makes it easier for women. Whether they want to enter the workforce or not, I don’t care.”
