Aside from her Miami and Charleston Open triumphs this season, Danielle Collins’ private life has drawn a lot of attention from the public. The tennis community has been hearing quite a lot about the American tennis star’s supportive boyfriend, Bryan, who “didn’t know anything about tennis” when they first met. On another recent occasion, Collins couldn’t hold herself back from mentioning her boyfriend, as she had to warn a Tennis Channel presenter who complimented her with a ‘golden-hour’ comment.
It was a ‘golden hour’ situation for the current number 10 player when she sat down for an interview with the Tennis Channel presenter, Prakash Amritraj. As the sun was shining on her, Amritraj complimented Collins by saying, “You got a little golden hour situation going on right now. The sun shining on her. She’s shining.” The presenter’s comment made Collins blush as she hilariously warned him by mentioning her boyfriend.

The Miami Open champion said, “Thank you, oh you know how to make me blush. You better be careful talking to me like that, my boyfriend’s over there.” Collins has been thinking about Bryan even in an interview, and it makes sense given that he has been a pillar of support during her competitive journey. But do you know that Bryan didn’t know anything about tennis when he first met the WTA superstar?

In another previous interview with the Tennis Channel, the American player said, “We met at a coffee shop in London so that was pretty exciting, I didn’t think I would meet someone at a coffee shop. Who would have thought?”

Bryan was in the stands during his tennis girlfriend’s triumphant run in Charleston but he had no idea about the racket game when they first crossed paths. Reminiscing about their meeting during the Grand Slam event in London, the WTA player said, “Just after the tournament, Wimbledon, he didn’t know anything about tennis, and he didn’t know I was a tennis player, which was really nice.”
Collins also revealed that her boyfriend is a huge fan of golf, a sport which she has now also ardently taken up. What do you think of the American tennis star hilariously warning the Tennis Channel presenter by mentioning her boyfriend? Let us know in the comments section.
