To call Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian an active social media user would certainly be an understatement. He makes use of his considerable fan following while talking about topics related to technology, sports, and much more. But that’s not all. He is also very informed and well-spoken about other topics that impact society as a whole, especially kids. And recently one of the topics that he decided to talk about was the ‘SAT’.
Every kid pursuing their education is aware of the SATs and the need to take them. Recently, Alexis Ohanian opened up about the logic behind taking the exams and how it can be improved for the kids in the future.

Ohanian shared a video on Twitter from one of his podcast episodes, along with the opinion he has when it comes to taking the SAT. In the video, he can be seen talking about the logic behind taking the SAT and how the education system can do better in identifying and acknowledging the potential each student has.
He added, “The test-taking system we’ve used has been the same for the past 67 years. To truly identify student potential, there has to be a better system than just the SATs.”
My parents couldn't afford an SAT tutor, so they got me a book. I got a 1280 the first time. Then I took it again a few months later and got a 1420. I definitely didn't get smarter in those 2 months. Made the whole thing feel pretty random.

Alexis also shared how he took the SATs twice and he scored 1280 and 1420 consecutively. He also added how his parents could not afford a tutor, so he got through them with a book. He only took the exams a few months apart and did not do anything different in preparation, so it was not accurate to his potential.
“Made the whole thing feel pretty random”, he added. We are sure a lot of students would agree with his point of view and embark on a new testing system to accurately assess the potential of each individual.
Alexis not only shared the problem on the internet but also offered an improvised solution for the problem he highlighted. And as always, his solution was based on a thing he loves and loves to experiment with: it is none other than Artificial Intelligence.

In the series of tweets he shared on the same topic, Alexis also added how, since everything around the world is developing, the entry exam system of the colleges and schools should also change. One of the potential solutions that he had, which was better than the SAT according to him, was an AI-based bot that would have conversations with students.
I can imagine a version of college admissions that starts with an AI-powered bot having a conversation with students.
It would take a lot of work and need to be trained on a high-quality data set—but it could give colleges a clearer sense of who a student is and how they think.

He said that these robots could be more helpful in getting a sense of what the student has in terms of skill and potential rather than just giving an SAT which actually analyses nothing.
