British tennis star Emma Raducanu has added another feather to her hat. The 20-year-old features on the cover page of the sports section in the 2023 Guinness Book of World Records. Although the Briton has had an average outing this season, her performance last year was exceptional.
While it’s a huge achievement for any sportsperson, fans are not happy. The prime reason behind it is her consistency. Even though the Briton did the extraordinary last year, she has failed to carry on from there. Here’s how fans took the news.

As the news broke out on the internet, there were mixed reactions from the fans. While a few were really happy for the young girl as she did something amazing to reach here, a few were not happy. The reason behind it is their belief that Raducanu got carried away with the fame that came after her US Open triumph. Fans reacted to this differently.
And why do we need to know this?

An angry fan labeled it as a sheer PR stunt.
She must have one hell of an amazing agent who can bring her all these sponsorships and publicity with no talents. If it's sheer looks, there are others in the same league or better like Paula Bardosa.
Why aren't the other legitimately top players working with this agent?

Fans are largely angry because of Raducanu’s sharp dip in performance. A few are not happy with the fitness of the young tennis star as she spent a large season away from the court. Another school of thought believes that she is still riding high on the success of her US Open win and is busy earning money through endorsements.
The anger from fans is understandable because Raducanu has failed to live up to the expectations. However, this doesn’t take away the credit she must receive for her achievement. Talking about her form, Briton is still very young and has enough time to work on herself and make a stronger comeback. Every player experiences this phase in their career. With determination and hard work, they come out strong and victorious. Fans are still curious to see the tennis player perform back on the court.
