Earlier in April, former Russian tennis star, Maria Sharapova celebrated her 35th birthday by announcing to the world that she was pregnant. A few hours earlier, she shared the happy news of the birth of her first child on Instagram.

On her official social media account, she shared a picture of the baby with the father. Notably, she has been dating British businessman, Alexander Gilkes since 2018 and in 2020, they announced their engagement as well.

Earlier today, she posted the good news on her Instagram account and, according to the caption of her post, she gave birth to a baby boy. Moreover, she also revealed the name of the boy as well. You can check the picture below.

“Theodore VII•I•MMXXII… The most beautiful, challenging, and rewarding gift our little family could ask for,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
In April, she announced her pregnancy on Instagram, as she shared a pic on a beach with a baby bump. In the caption, she wrote, “Precious beginnings!!!… Eating birthday cake for two has always been my specialty.“

Sharapova had a pretty good career as a professional tennis player

In 2020, the former world no.1 announced her retirement from tennis. Throughout her professional career, she has been a tremendous competitor and her rivalry with Serena Williams was one of the most popular rivalries in the past two decades. Although the American legend has a better head-to-head record (20-2), their match-up always attracted plenty of fans.

However, Sharapova probably had the biggest win of her career against Serena at the age of 17, when she won the 2004 Wimbledon final. However, since then, she has never beaten the American star.

Still, she had a pretty incredible career, as she won 5 Grand Slam singles tournaments. Also, she became one of the very few players to win a career Grand Slam, winning all four Major tournaments.
