As the Polish tennis player is quite open about her opinions on and off the tennis court, she became one of the latest players to voice her dissatisfaction with the Women’s Tennis Association. According to The Athletic, after getting no response to the three-page, single-spaced letter that was signed by Sabalenka and 20 other leading players, including Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova, Swiatek added her take on the demands that were listed on the list by writing a letter herself. She highlighted the same issues that the players are facing repeatedly on the tour.

In addition, Paula Wolecka, a representative for the Pole, disclosed how the current world number two’s demands are part of joining the united front to truly transform the sport – especially the women’s Tour, which has historically been unfairly disadvantaged as compared to the men’s Tour. In the letter, players have not only talked about the need for higher pay; they have also raised concerns about having flexible hours and a sustainable schedule to fit both the physical and mental well-being of the players.
