Venus and Serena Williams have always been there for each other. Be it waiting for storms to pass or celebrating achievements and newly made records. In addition, they are strong individually as well, both on the court and in life. In fact, they have inspired many young minds to pursue their dreams regardless of the obstacles.

Further, they grew up in a small city but were surrounded by the best group of people, along with strict yet caring and loving parents. Therefore, they became what they are now, and it’s a secret to no one that they have made their parents proud. Recently, their mother, Oracene Price, sat down for an interview and shared what they were like while growing up and the kind of bond they had.

Oracene about Venus and Serena Williams’ early dynamics

Oracene, in an interview with TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones for the series named ‘Through Mom’s Eyes’, spoke about her family’s days in Compton, Serena’s infamous U.S. Open moment and the power of sisterhood.

In addition, she also opened up about the duo’s dynamics while growing up. She said, “Well, Serena, believe it or not, was quiet and Venus was more boisterous and talkative, actually. And I used to see that getting changed when they got older. Serena did everything that Venus did.”

Recently, the legendary tennis duo traveled to Miami. They, along with the Serena‘s husband Alexis Ohanian, gave attendance to the Miami Grand Prix.

The trio was at the Hard Rock stadium to support the British World champion Lewis Hamilton. Although their favorite failed secure the victory, the day was pretty eventful for them as they got to catch up with old friends.

Why did the Williams leave Crompton?

The Williams sisters took their initial training from their parents, mostly from their father, Richard Williams. Later, the world renowned coach Rick Macci joined them. All these things happened in Crompton. Therefore, the Williams duo has a lot of memories linked to the rusty courts of Crompton. So why change the location which is of such personal value?

Price, as a response to the question, said, “It was a decision in regard to you know coaching and getting better facilities and getting out of Crompton because it was kinda bad.”
