Martina Navratilova is one WTA legend who unfortunately dealt with cancer twice in her life. Her most recent diagnosis came at the beginning of this year. But after a few months of treatment, she was finally able to win her battle against the deadly disease. Her wife, Julia Lemigova, who was with her every step of the way, recently expressed her jubilation at her wife overcoming cancer once again.

While Navratilova had the support of her wife, her rival back in the day was also with her. The American tennis legend, Chris Evert, helped her immensely as she herself has suffered from the disease in the past.

In an interview with Issuu publications, the former USSR model talked about several aspects of her life, including her time on the reality TV show, Real Housewives of Miami. Lemigova also spoke about how her time with Navratilova has been, now that she was free of cancer. In the exclusive interview, she opened up about the status of her wife’s recovery.

Lemigova was elated at the news and expressed immense pride in Navratilova. “I am so proud of my champion! She amazes me every day! Right now, we are still putting all of our energy into Martina and her health. We are thrilled she is back working and has resumed doing several of the things she loves.”

When asked if her relationship has changed after the disease, the former model stated she has been inspired by Navratilova. “Martina’s resilience and commitment to positivity has inspired me to take on new challenges and not let fear dictate our lives.

Although Lemigova stood right by her side during her recovery, Navratilova also had her former archrival to rely on.

How Chris Evert helped Navratilova?

The 59-time grand slam champion first announced that she had won the battle in a live interview with Piers Morgan. As she talked about her recovery, Navratilova said that her former rival and best friend had helped her a lot. As Evert had also battled with cancer, her insights helped Navratilova as she was able to ask her whatever was on her mind.
