It has been an eventful year for two-time Grand Slam champion, Garbine Muguruza. The season began on a poor note for her, losing four consecutive first-round matches. Further, with the pressure mounting, the Spanish tennis beauty decided to take a break from tennis. The 29-year-old hoped to spend quality time with her family and friends and come back stronger to the court. She announced that she’ll be skipping the clay and grass-court season. While on a break, Muguruza went through a big life moment.

The former World Number 1 got engaged to Spanish model Arthur Borges. The latter is the same guy who asked Muguruza for a selfie during the 2021 US Open. The two later met and struck an instant bond. After a lengthy layoff and getting engaged, Muguruza hinted about a comeback to tennis.
