During the match, Andreeva lost her footing while chasing the ball which forced her to let go of the racket. However, the umpire did not notice that clearly and gave her a point penalty as it was her second offense. The Russian argued with the umpire and tried her best to explain but the decision was not overturned. It was a deuce on Andreeva’s service game where she was serving to stay in the match. Unsurprisingly, one of the journalists asked her about the incident. Andreeva replied saying, “I don?t know which decision was right, but she?s the umpire & the 1 who makes the decision. I didn?t have any intention to throw it. I slid & thought I?d fall forward. Maybe it looked like I threw it, I don?t know. I didn?t see a video yet.”

How is Andreeva a different person on and off-court?
Well, the above answer suggests that the Russian is very calm and composed when she is not on the court. She has been quite level-headed in most of her press conferences.
