The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is an ardent tennis fan. The Wimbledon finals weekend is always occupied on her calendar as she makes her way to the courts of SW19. Her Centre Court appearance is not just limited to that of a viewer. After the final, the Princess steps onto the court and presents the trophy to the worthy champions.

Aside from handing over the trophy, Middleton often likes to interact with the tennis players. She has interacted with former champions like Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina after their triumph. Similarly, she had a brief conversation with the newly crowned Wimbledon champion, Marketa Vondrousova.

Kate Middleton had some warm words for Marketa Vondrousova

The last couple of weeks have been nothing short of a fairytale for Vondrousova. The 24-year-old had shown a lot of promise in the beginning of her career, but injuries derailed her progress. After making it to a Roland Garros final and winning an Olympic silver medal, she struggled to maintain consistency. However, the Czech tennis ace found her rhythm at Wimbledon. Well, she did not just find her rhythm but also went on to win the Championship.

After defeating Ons Jabeur in the final, Vondrousova received her trophy from Kate Middleton. They had a warm embrace on the court before the Czech athlete left for her balcony photoshoot. When she returned to see her name on the honors board, she was over the moon.

The Princess of Wales had a brief interaction with the Wimbledon champion. She congratulated her for her achievement and hailed her performance. Vondrousova was overwhelmed by her words. Middleton also wished her well for the future before parting ways.

This wasn’t Middleton’s first appearance at this year’s Wimbledon and definitely will not be the last as she will be handing over the trophy to the men’s champion tomorrow.

When Roger Federer drew Kate Middleton to Wimbledon

Roger Federer was felicitated at the Centre Court for his achievements on the second day of this year’s Wimbledon. After showcasing a short film on his Wimbledon career and a loud round of applause, the Swiss Maestro sat inside the royal box with his wife Mirka and Kate Middleton. They watched the defending champion Elena Rybakina’s opening fixture at the Centre Court after Federer’s felicitation.
