Former Czechoslovakian-American tennis player Martina Navratilova is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players ever. In recent times, she has become really active on social media, especially on Twitter. Often, she provides her opinion about tennis and some other subject matters. 

Recently, she provided her opinion about the controversy surrounding a few Tampa Bay Rays players refusing to wear certain jerseys during a game against the Chicago White Sox.

Martina Navratilova talks about the controversial decision by Tampa Bay Rays players

Earlier, the 18-time Grand Slam winner, Martina Navratilova, took to Twitter and said, “Good to know that according to these lovely athletes, our family is a “lifestyle”. Get an effing clue guys!!!”

According to recent reports, the Tampa Bay Rays team was celebrating their 16th Annual Pride Night against the Chicago White Sox. As a special occasion, they decided to wear special LGBTQ-themed jerseys. However, five pitchers named Brooks Raley, Jason Adam, Jeffrey Springs, Jalen Beeks, and Ryan Thompson decided not to wear those jerseys. 

Later, a spokesperson from the team confirmed that it was a “faith-based decision.”

Navratilova commented after Rafael Nadal won his 14th Roland Garros title

As a former tennis player, Navratilova often posts various tweets about her beloved sport as well. Recently, she posted a beautiful comment after Rafael Nadal won his 14th French Open title. “@RafaelNadal – 14!!!!! That’s the tweet. #speechless,” she wrote on Twitter. 

With this title, Rafael Nadal has now won the most number of Grand Slam titles in the men’s game. However, he has to win 2 more to catch Margaret Court’s total tally of 24 Grand Slam titles.

Meanwhile, Navratilova also won 18 Grand Slam singles titles herself. Moreover, she had won 167 singles titles, 177 doubles titles, and won 2189 matches in her entire career. This record will remain unattainable for a long time, possibly forever.

What’s even more remarkable was that she played tennis till 50 years old, and won a Grand Slam title too. In 2006, she won the mixed doubles in the US Open, to end her professional tennis career on a high note. Former American legendary tennis player Billie Jean King even called her the greatest all-around tennis player ever.
