Serena Williams and Venus Williams are known by their fans primarily for their endeavors in tennis, but they hold a place beyond that. Not only are the sisters talented in sports but also when it comes to being entrepreneurs. All this started when they began their journey in business by making one of their initial investments in 2019 in the Miami Dolphins.
A national football league as an investment turned out extremely resourceful for the sisters not only because now it is valued at $5.3 billion but also because it opened a path for entrepreneurship for them. Serena Williams also previously shared how investing in the league was not only an investment but also an emotional journey for them as it connects to their childhood time.
Serena Williams’ Miami Dolphins investment has a childhood connection

In one of her previous interviews, Serena Williams and Venus Williams talked about how they were elated to have gotten the opportunity to invest in the Miami Dolphins. This was not only an important decision to them financially and business-wise, but also because Miami holds a special place in their hearts.

Serena mentioned, “I am so excited to be part of such a renowned organization. Having spent so much of my childhood in the area, being involved with a staple of Miami culture is a huge honor. We look forward to many championships and much success together with the Miami Dolphins.”
Venus added, “I am honored to be a partner in the Miami Dolphins franchise and thankful to owner Stephen Ross for allowing Serena and I to be part of Miami Dolphins history.”

For the Williams sisters, the investment was more than about being just finances. It was a decision they took collectively so they could feel like they belonged to the team. Miami Dolphins helped the sisters become more proactive in the business field
After investing at such a scale, Serena Williams furthered herself in the business arena year after year. She launched her own investment brand that backs a lot of growing businesses and startups. On,e of them includes Will Perform, which is a self-care brand. Another company she has invested in is Nine Two Six which is a media production company.
The same goes for Venus Williams, she also launched her own brand called EleVen by Venus which features a lot of sports-related merchandise. She is also a co-founder of Happy Viking which is another athletic wear company that works on a direct-to-consumer-based model.
