The effects are not temporary though. Tennis legend Venus Williams sheds light on the topic in her latest interview with Harley Finkelstein.
Harley, who is an entrepreneur, a lawyer, and President of Shopify, had Venus Williams on his latest podcast interview. While talking on several issues about life and sports, the mental health of players came into the discussion. Venus said that it is a very important factor in a player’s career.
He continued praising Venus for being an advocate for others but also for mental health and self-care. He gave a recent example of Naomi Osaka for opening up about mental health issues.

Venus, while explaining her ways of managing mental health, gave credit to her family and especially her mother for that.
She also said that once you take control of your life it would be easier to deal with tough conditions.

Venus considers many individuals fall into the “taking care of mental well-being” category, putting her in it too. For that, she said it is important to chining oneself mentally to be able to handle life. She said, “Life is beautiful, but it can be very hard and so how do you handle it (is important)”
Venus Williams said that the chining process starts at an early age, but if you couldn’t get that early, then it’s something one should train in life. She also pointed out that people should be ready for any potential tense situations. They should be ready with a plan to handle it mentally. She said that is her main way out to handle a potentially stressful situation.
The 7 time Grand Slam winner said that mental strength is a thing that some people are born with and others can acquire by practicing it, working on it, and by planning themselves mentally for situations beforehand.

The tips and processes explained by Venus are some things that could help not only sportspersons but also normal human beings in life to deal with the critical issue of mental health.
