Serena Williams‘ childhood home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, worth $1,400,000, is in ruins now. The tennis legend’s step-mom, Lakeisha Graham, refused to hand over the possession to Richard while arriving at terms for divorce. Serena’s father and former coach claimed that Lakeisha got hold of the property for $10 as she forged his signature. In the court filings, Richard’s ex-wife admitted to forging the signature as she started a trucking business and then ‘fast-food and frivolities,’ which failed miserably.

Lakeisha’s dream road to profits incurred her huge losses, ultimately leading to divorce. The mortgage of $279,000 went into ashes, but ironically, $13,197 was a deciding factor for the ultimate custody of the property.

Richards’s ex-wife is stuck in deep legal waters. What started with divorce ended in bankruptcy. Due to her home loan, Lakeisha owes lender David Simon a total of $623,000 and failed to adhere to any repayment plan in the 5 years. She claims she has already paid $171,486 in the last 7 months. The childhood home of Serena and Venus Williams lost its previous charm due to poor maintenance.

The memorable house looked horrific, with a leaking roof and an abandoned truck parked in the front yard, disqualifying the property for insurance. So, Lakeisha had to pay for the mortgage and house repairs independently. According to The U.S. Sun, she failed to repay $13,197 of the decided plan and claims it was an honest mistake.

Lakeisha’s debts are only snowballing as the court would dismiss her bankruptcy filing if she doesn’t stick to the payment plan. The final verdict will be issued on the 7th of September, which is only 6 days away. The Williams sisters’ stepmother’s financial status makes the case hopeless for her as it is impractical for her to repay the balance sum.
