‘Matching Outfits With Mama’ – When Five-Year-Old Olympia Aced the Red-Carpet Look Alongside Serena Williams at ‘King Richard’ Premiere

For Serena Williams, the year 2017 brought a lot of happiness. At first, she claimed her 23rd Grand Slam title in Australia. Then she tied the knot and welcomed Olympia with Alexis Ohanian. Thus, advancing in both personal and professional life. Speaking of the little girl, she receives adoration from the entire tennis fraternity and is no less than a celebrity.

Further, she is a show stealer as well. The tennis legend’s daughter claimed the spotlight by making her first red carpet appearance at the premiere of the movie King Richard. Here’s a cute clip from the day.

Olympia’s red carpet debut

King Richard graced theaters in the year 2021. At that time, Olympia was four years old and accompanied her parents to the premiere. Upon arrival, she met some eager interviewers and pitched in her thoughts about the day. Riding on Ohanian’s shoulder, Olympia pitched in between his interview, “Olympia has been a great sport. It’s her first carpet,” said Ohanian.

Olympia: “Yes.”

Interviewer: “Is this your first red carpet?”

Olympia: “Yes”

Ohanian: “She is matching outfits with mama.”

Olympia: “Yes.”

Ohanian: “And I promised her an icy and some popcorn. Papa’s gotta deliver. She is excited for family to come over. To get that family photo.”

Following that, after looking at Olympia wiggling around and getting restless, Ohanian says, “Ready to go, baby. Okay, alright, we will go. No more questions.”

King Richard tells the story of Venus and Serena Williams’ struggle and success alongside their father’s contribution to the process. While Will Smith portrayed the role of Richard, Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton played Serena and Venus’ parts. Further, the movie received a green flag from both viewers and critics and garnered six Oscar nominations.

The seven times Wimbledon champion made her comeback from a year-long leg injury in the greens of England. At first, she tried her luck in doubles at the WTA 500 event in Eastbourne. Then she returned to the singles circuit through the majors of London.

Though Williams suffered an opening-round defeat in Wimbledon, her biggest cheerleaders had her back. Both Ohanian and Olympia travelled alongside the 41-year-old and supported her throughout the grass swing.
